An Iced Coffee Sweat-R

A sweater (Sweat-R) for your Iced Coffee cup...

I’ve been making some coffee cup cozies lately and knew that there really needed to be a closed bottom one for cold coffee. You know no matter if you are in the cool air of AC in your car, coffee house, or your home that condensation drips from your cup and drips on your clothes, knitting or

book and is a constant aggravation.

Now you don’t have to use a coaster or napkin that sticks to your cup and doesn’t work anyway! Just use an Iced Coffee Sweat-R! It will soak up all of those drips and looks pretty darn cute too!

I am very pleased with how this little Iced Coffee Sweat-R turned out. I made the first one in worsted weight yarn and the second in sport weight. They both work wonderfully, but I think I prefer the worsted weight ones.

It combines my love of crochet and knitting. I crocheted the bottom up and around for an inch or so, then picked up stitches with my DPN’s to knit around, ending with an inch or so of K2, P2 rib at the top. I also added some YO’s so that I could run yarn, or crocheted chain through so that the top can fold down into the bottom.

Then just use the cord lock and pull to close tight and you have a cute little ball to throw in your purse and you can hang it on your wrist when you go in to get your Iced Coffee fix for the day!

You can pick up the cord locks in assorted colors for penny’s at Hancock Fabrics or find them online.
